My wife has brass balls

Philip Morgan

In 2011 my wife and I sold our house in Portland and had a house built on some land we owned at the Oregon coast. We knew almost nothing about what it would be like to move to a very rural area where we knew almost no locals and live there full time. Looking back on this experience, we definitely were kind of crazy to do it.But at the time, we thought it would be a great idea. We saw only the upside. We were at a friend's birthday party in Portland a few months before the move. I remember describing our plan to my friend's father. And I also very much remember what he said. As you read this to yourself, I want you to add a strong Chicago accent to it, cause that's how this guy actually spoke:Your wife must have brass balls to pick up and move like that. It's kind of true. My wife is very courageous, among many other positive attributes. But that's the first time anyone has ever said she has brass balls. It wasn't the last time, though. Because I love to joke with her about that line from my friend's dad. So she hears me saying she has brass balls way more than she'd like. :)Anyway, do you need brass balls to narrow down your marketing focus and become a more highly-paid specialist?I don't think so. You do need to make good decisions about how to narrow down your focus and you need to back it up with consistent action for 6 to 18 months. But that's all you really need. If you would like some help making the right decisions: to you soon,-P
