I was at Lowes yesterday getting a new faucet for a sink when this sign caught my eye:Those are features, not benefits.Benefits are usually phrased as beneficial changes, beneficial results, or desirable outcomes.Features are the concrete, specific things that may or may not cause or create a benefit.I’ll translate the first 3 features on the sign above into benefits, and leave the rest for you to do on your own as a marketing skill-building exercise:
- Medical, Dental, & Vision Coverage: Spend more days of your life feeling healthy and able to really enjoy time with your family and your hobbies.
- Vacation & Holiday Pay: Spend more holiday time with friends and family without having to take unpaid time off from work.
- Employee Discounts: Spend less money on building supplies, tools, household stuff, truck rentals, and anything else Lowes sells.
